Differences Between Backup (Dump) Firmware & Factory Signed Firmware

#1

Unread post by RomShillzz » Sun Jan 13, 2019 5:19 pm

Following the introduction of Secure Boot Devices and Factory Signed Firmware in popular mobile phone brands like Tecno, Infinix, Itel, etc... which the RomShillzz Team abbreviated as (FSF) written in all our Factory Signed Firmware to differentiate them from the "Normal" Backup (Dump) Firmware.

I have received a lot of e-mails and questions in our WhatsApp Groups about this factory files and it's differences between the dumped firmware.

To me, I see this Factory Signed Firmware (FSF) as a means of restructuring the GSM Market (which has been killed by road-side technicians). As you all can see, most firmware websites which uploads factory signed firmware for downloads, sell this firmware as it is also purchased from Calcare centers or directly from the Mobile phone's brand Service centers.

Although not every Technician could afford to purchase these files sold in singles / per file, that is why we at RomShillzz Team in co-operation with the GSM-Tutors Forum restructured and introduced the VIP Section where all these files can be accessed only for a VIP Membership (which is quite cheap and life easing! :) ).

Nevertheless, let me go straight to the main purpose of writing this post.

Differences:
#1. As a Mobile Phone Technician, you all know what a Backup (Dump) Firmware is and How / The components it contains. Without writing much, below is an attachment (a screenshot) showing the full component of a Backup (Dump) Firmware and a Factory Signed Firmware.

Factory Signed Firmware:

The above pictures I will say is the component differences between a Dump Firmware and a Factory Signed Firmware. In the factory signed firmware, you would notice some - verified files.

#2. Another good difference between this two firmware is that the Factory Signed Firmware is the perfect firmware you should flash to any secure boot device. It helps you fix 100% software issues like:
  • Boot loop (Hang on Boot Logo)
  • Google Account Factory Reset Protection (FRP)
  • Support API 3 (Supported: API 3)
  • Unknown Baseband
  • Privacy Protection
  • Ghost-push Virus

While flashing a dumped firmware to a secure boot device is 50% out of 100% which if unsuccessful, you may end up having a 'bricked' or 'dead' device.

Note: This is applicable to secure boot devices only.

If you have any other features or comparison for this two firmware, please post a reply!
