Are you getting a "Get PIT for mapping.." error when trying to flash/upgrade a Samsung Galaxy device? After getting the PIT file it now stuck's on "Setup connection"? Here's a fix for you!
I tried flashing a Samsung Galaxy SM-N920F/K using Odin Tool and it also ended up with this same error. After pulling out the PIT file from the device using Miracle box, I downloaded an upgraded version of the device firmware, v7.0 to upgrade the device which initially was v5.1.1, I still got the same "Get PIT for mapping.." and "Setup connection" error while using Odin.
I downloaded the 4 Files Firmware (Repair Firmware) this time around it was v5.1.1 (the actual version in the device) thinking that the error might be caused by the upgraded firmware version I was using. I tried again using Odin, It failed, tried Miracle Box, it failed, tried Z3X Box, it failed, tried Octuplus Box it also failed, I got exhausted.
Now I have no other choice but to troubleshoot. I download a lower version of Odin it failed, I downloaded the latest version it also failed.
Guess what? I downloaded this Patched version of Odin;
File Name: Odin3_v3.13.1_3B_PatcheD .zip
File Size: 1.3 MB

...loaded the firmware v7.0, Selected the PIT file (optional) and Started the process, Immediately, the process began. Finally, I had my Samsung SM-N920K/F device upgraded to the latest version 7.0!
After flashing and fixing the issue with the patched version of Odin, I decided to flash again using the normal version of Odin and everything went well, It seems the patched version has corrected some partitions in the device. See proof below.
So I decided to share my experience with those who may/are/will also encounter this error someday.
If this worked for you, use the thanks button!
